Internal News Box

Adding a News Box to a site allows a school to inform users of your latest news, creating current interest.  This feature comprises of links to full stories in your site's News section and is fully run and updated by the school.

Scrolling News Bar

A scrolling news bar can be added to any template on your website, many schools have them on their homepage.  This feature allows you to quickly add information to your website without having to create a news article.  For example, you can use it to display reminders or important notices.

External News Box

Add interest to your page by adding a News Box which is fed by news from another site or sites, such as BBC Newsround or you could show all the latest news from the websites of your partner schools.

RSS Feeds

This is another type of a news feed which you could have on your website. RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a way of easily distributing information and letting you know when something has changed on a website.

An example of news which have RSS Feeds

You can create one or many RSS Feeds which allow other VisuaLearning websites to see when you have added the latest news item or information as soon as it is pubished.

For example, if you are a secondary school you could create a RSS Feed which all your partner schools would have on their websites.

You may find RSS Feed Icons throughout the website you are visiting. If you subscribe to any of these RSS Feeds you will get the latest news from the website without having to even visit the website.
